FSA Gradient i30 Carbon Mullet MTB Wheelset 27R/29F Boost SHM

Originally introduced in 2021 as part of the Gradient range, the Gradient i30 Carbon was relaunched in 2025 with a refined design and key technical upgrades that push trail and enduro performance even further.

This updated platform features an optimized carbon layup, enhanced finishing details, and the performance-focused X-900 PRS ratchet hub with 72-tooth engagement. The high-engagement system delivers near-instant power transfer, minimal lag under load, and precise control in technical terrain, translating to consistent efficiency when accelerating out of corners.

Built around a 30mm internal rim width, the Gradient i30 enhances tire support and stability for improved traction, cornering precision, and impact control. The refined carbon construction balances low rotational mass with the strength required for aggressive riding, delivering both responsiveness and durability.

The integration of the PRS hub and advanced rim construction results in a complete system weight of just 1,870 grams, highly competitive within its category.

The rim architecture incorporates reinforced spoke bed towers, specifically engineered to increase strength at the spoke interface. This structural reinforcement enhances the connection between spoke and rim, while the asymmetrical rim profile further optimizes load distribution. The result is improved impact resistance, greater durability, and long-term reliability under high spoke tension and aggressive riding conditions.

In terms of compatibility, the Gradient i30 Carbon is offered in both 29” and 27.5” rear wheel configurations, providing maximum setup flexibility. The hub system supports MS, XD, and HG freehub bodies to ensure broad drivetrain compatibility. Up front, riders can choose between 15mm and 20mm thru-axle options, including compatibility with the new FOX Podium platform, allowing seamless integration across a wide range of forks and race-ready builds.

Development was guided by direct feedback from professional enduro and downhill athletes, with extensive laboratory and real-world field testing validating key performance benchmarks, including impact resistance, fatigue durability, and structural integrity.
